Noelker and Hull Associates of Chambersburg, PA, has merged with the architectural practice of King, Asbury & Associates of Frederick, MD.

Under the agreement, Noelker and Hull and King, Asbury will continue to provide exceptional architectural, master planning, interior design and consulting services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and across the United States from their offices in Chambersburg, PA, Pottstown, PA, and Frederick MD. As a division of Noelker and Hull, King, Asbury will continue operations under their existing name for the near term.

The combined firm employs 45 professionals concentrating on senior living, higher education, health care, religious, K-12, commercial and institutional design.

Established as Bairley, Maginniss & King in 1985, King, Asbury & Associates is a diversified architectural practice delivering educational, institutional and commercial design. Managed by Thomas H. King, AIA, and Robert M. Asbury, AIA, LEED AP, the firm enjoys a strong regional presence in the educational market and adds more than 65 years of combined expertise to Noelker and Hull’s professional staff. Both Mr. King and Mr. Asbury will become principals in the larger firm.

Chambersburg, PA-based Noelker and Hull Associates is a full service firm serving senior living, higher education, health care and religious clients in the Mid-Atlantic region and across the United States. Managed by Michael G. Hull, AIA, President, Michael Allen-Hall, AIA and Stuart E. Christenson, AIA, the firm enjoys a strong national presence in the senior living market and will add significant resources to King, Asbury’s staff. The firms’ merger will extend Noelker and Hull’s presence into the Washington, DC, metropolitan region and introduce King, Asbury to the Keystone State.

Mr. Hull, a Frederick County resident since 1985, notes that the two firms have similar business philosophies. “We are very excited about the opportunities this merger brings to both firms,” he said. “Together we will continue our long traditions of delivering personalized architectural services to each of our clients throughout the region and United States.”

King, Asbury’s professional work is readily seen throughout the Frederick area, including the Jack Kussmaul Theater at Frederick Community College and Monocacy Canning Company in downtown Frederick, as well as the recent renovation of Governor Thomas Johnson High School and new St. Michaels High School complex on the eastern shore.

Noelker and Hull’s work is also known in the Frederick area. The firm designed major renovations to Frederick Memorial Hospital, the new Unitarian Universalist Church and Holy Family Catholic Community church in Middletown, MD. Recent projects include St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor church and a major expansion at Homewood at Willow Ponds.
