This adaptive reuse project began as an old furniture warehouse built in 1912. The original brick building was renovated and adapted to house Noelker and Hull’s new main corporate office in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Like many industrial buildings in South Central Pennsylvania, the warehouse was constructed of handmade brick with fir/pine wood floor and ceiling assemblies. These features were preserved and enhanced so that the former life of the furniture warehouse would be evident. A connecting bridge links the two buildings and simple detailing in light woods, warm colors, and natural light provide a comfortable environment within the building envelope.

Awards & Recognition

Chambersburg Area Development Corporation, Property Improvement Award, Honorable Mention, Re-roofs and Renovations
