Noelker and Hull recognizes the latest achievement of Senior Interior Designer, Jessica R. Futrell, NCIDQ. Jessica recently earned the WELL Accredited Professional designation.

The WELL AP designation is a credential that recognizes her expertise in the relationship between health, wellness, and the built environment, as well as her knowledge of the WELL Building Standard implementation process. Jessica explains, “The WELL building standard is a framework and solid foundation for healthy building design, but it also leaves room for continuous learning and innovation. WELL AP accreditation requires continued education to stay up to date with the latest WELL Building Standard updates and research in health-focused design. It will be a priority for me to collaborate with end users and professionals across disciplines—architects, engineers, sustainability consultants—to bring these design solutions to life.”

With 23 years of experience working for Noelker and Hull alone, Jessica’s interior design expertise and knowledge continues to grow, ranging from healthcare, mental and behavioral health, to senior living, and higher education projects. “The WELL AP designation enhances my daily design process by giving me an evidence-based platform to prioritize human health, safety, and dignity. It helps me advocate more effectively for features like biophilic design, access to natural light, calming color palettes, and non-toxic materials—all of which can significantly influence patient or end user outcomes. In daily practice, it broadens my awareness of the way I approach everything from material selection and lighting design to air and water quality considerations. It helps me make more informed, evidence-based decisions that benefit both clients and end users,” Jessica shares.

As Jessica continues to expand her knowledge, she hopes to continue creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also support human health and well-being. “This is an exciting milestone in my career, especially as someone focused on the behavioral health sector where the stakes for design impacting well-being are exceptionally high,” she expresses, “It reinforces my belief that design is not just aesthetic—it’s therapeutic. It allows my passion for thoughtful, intentional design to thrive and motivate me even more to design with purpose in every project.”
