Noelker and Hull completed a 14 year renovation at this waterfront property. This custom building is located on the site of the family home where poet Henry Longfellow was born. It has 179 guestrooms on 5 floors with a second floor interior courtyard, indoor pool, fitness center, meeting room and board room. Situated one block from the waterfront, we developed a thoughtful design package that explored the history of the working waterfront in Portland. Throughout the public areas, custom finishes, furniture, lighting, and artwork are used to design an experience that’s authentic and embodies the atmosphere of Portland’s waterfront. In the guestrooms, we modified Marriott’s prototypical package using their standard furniture but customizing fabrics, finishes, and artwork to curate a sense of local.
