Noelker and Hull Associates, Inc. was honored to be a part of a ribbon cutting marking the grand opening of the Franklin County Judicial Center. In collaboration with Silling Architects, Noelker and Hull provided architectural and design services for the new building which sits adjacent to the historic county courthouse (est. 1864).

“We thank the Franklin County Commissioners for giving us the opportunity to participate in a building project that has truly transformed the heart of downtown Chambersburg. Its successful completion is a testament to the value of dedication, partnership, and patience,” said Stuart E. Christenson, President of Noelker and Hull Associates, Inc.

The two-story, 108,113-square-foot facility was designed to provide adequate space for growing county operations and to co-locate court-related offices. The building holds six courtrooms, judges’ chambers and office suites for support staff, as well as the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Clerk of Courts/Orphans’ Court and the Prothonotary’s Office.

Blending modern and traditional design features, the new Franklin County Judicial Center reflects the community in which it serves by:

  • Using local materials
  • Engaging local contractors in its construction
  • Creating space for local artwork installations
  • Incorporating meaningful views of the downtown and of the historic courthouse
  • Expanding the courthouse plaza for community use

“This Judicial Center was built to meet the needs of the residents of Franklin County and it will serve them for years to come,” said Mr. Christenson.
