Noelker and Hull provided architect of record services for the new 106,456-square-foot Franklin County Judicial Center.

Completed in conjunction with design architect Silling Architects, the Judicial Center houses 6 Court of Common Pleas courtrooms (with the ability to convert a jury assembly room into a 7th courtroom in the future, if needed); judges’ chambers and space for supporting staff; the Sheriff’s Office with detainee holding cells and a secure sally port; Clerk of Courts and Prothonotary offices. The Franklin County Judicial Center connects to the historic courthouse, built in 1865, which will house the Public Defender and historic Courtroom One.

The new Judicial Center is part of the multi-faceted Franklin County Court Facility Improvement Project which focused on improving the safety and security of court and county buildings, collocating scattered county offices, and improving efficiency of court and county operations. The Franklin County historic courthouse (23,466 SF), the Courthouse Annex (50,175 SF), Archives offices and storage facilities (15,761 SF) and a new Administration Building (35,349 SF) were also part of this capital project.
