Noelker and Hull provided architectural and interior design services for a new 25,000-square-foot academic building to support the new nursing curriculum at Lebanon Valley College. The design complements the existing Arnold Health Professions Pavilion facility and the existing site. The new structure was sited to provide a direct connection to the Pavilion to encourage collaboration and to create a strong identity for an expanded health professions campus. The hillside location of the Nursing School provided an opportunity to create a new outdoor green space, giving nursing students access to a grassy lawn and an exterior patio from the new connecting link. New program specific facilities include a simulation suite with five simulation rooms and adjacent supervisory control rooms, a skills lab with room for two separate learning sessions, flexible classrooms, a variety of study options for individual and group activities, and an administrative suite. Exterior materials were selected to complement the existing Pavilion.

Our goals for this project were to create:

  • A well-designed and unique learning environment;
  • A high-performing and sustainable facility that is easily maintained;
  • A building that is flexible and adaptable, including modern office space, learning areas, and collaboration spaces in support of evolving education methods, technologies, and research initiatives.
