Noelker and Hull provides services tailored to any healthcare project requirement. When the Pharmacy at Chambersburg Hospital needed to relocate and renovate, Noelker and Hull created a plan that allowed for efficient project completion in a single phase of construction.

The pharmacy relocated to a 7,138 square foot space, on a more patient-accessible floor of the hospital, and was renovated to comply with a change in USP 797 and USP 800 standards. Our project team, in conjunction with WellSpan Health, worked to have the plan approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy and Department of Health.

Included in the plan are a compounding suite containing a work room, a USP 797 Non-sterile Compounding Room, a USP 800 Sterile Compounding Room and an Ante Room. The design of the non-hazardous USP 797 and Hazardous USP 800 Compounding Rooms and Ante Room were designed to address healthcare performance criteria including architectural finishes, construction materials, temperature and humidity requirements, and High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters to comply with the current USP 797 and USP 800 standards. The scope of work called for modifications to existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing building systems, necessary to accommodate the proposed floor plan, as well as re-routing the hospital’s existing pneumatic tube delivery system.

This project successfully increased patient accessibility to WellSpan Chambersburg Pharmacy services and aided the pharmacy in meeting the latest compliance requirements.
